Effortlessly blending Arabic and African culture, this intriguing country will captivate families and couples alike. The enthralling combination of culture and relaxation, make Marrakech the ideal destination to mark anniversaries and special celebrations. From thrilling dune buggy adventures and encounters with local Berber village residents to indulgent spa treatments and exquisite fine dining experiences. Take a hot air balloon flight over Marrakech at sunrise or treat your taste buds to tantalising dishes with a rooftop dining experience. The possibilities for creating memorable moments are endless. Take a look at our top Marrakech holiday experiences, to help you turn magical Marrakech moments into unforgettable memories.

Start your day in full swing

As an exciting and up and coming golf destination, increasing numbers of courses are built each year in Morocco, but our favourite base for extraordinary golfing moments in Morocco is Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech. Nestled at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, the magnificent 18-hole golf course at Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech is a fantastic way to start your Morocco holiday whether you are a skilled golfer or complete beginner.

Fine-tune your skills under the expert guidance of coaches at the Golf Academy, before the next world champion or simply develop a new-found hobby as you weave between five water features, large bunkers, and shaped fairways. Even the little ones can get involved with junior golf clinics and lessons designed to provide children with the chance to develop their golf skills.

After you've perfected your swing, head to the magnificent golf clubhouse, which has state-of-the-art facilities and as Chris, our Assistant Reservation Manager recalls "possibly the largest changing rooms you could hope to find." Even if you aren't keen on playing golf, make sure you stop for lunch to enjoy what Michelle, our Reservation Consultant says "offers the most fantastic views of the Atlas Mountains."

Step into a new level of relaxation

World-renowned for relaxing Hammams, argan oils, and cleansing rasul treatments, Morocco provides the perfect spa break to detox, energise and rejuvenate your mind, body and soul. From hot stone therapy to traditional treatments and clay wraps, this destination is the perfect place to switch off and truly unwind. Or connect with your inner nature as you try a yoga or meditation session with the Atlas Mountains as your backdrop.

Get a real taste of Morocco

An enticing blend of North African and European style, Moroccan food is a melting pot of flavours influenced by its Jewish, Berber, Arabic, and Mediterranean inhabitants. Moroccan cuisine features mouth-watering lamb, fresh fish and a variety of vegetarian dishes including the staple couscous, so there really is something to different to delight your taste buds with each day.

Food lovers will adore the smoky senses of Jemma El Fna where at night the market comes alive with street food vendors serving local delicacies of sweet chebakias (doughnuts cooked in honey and sprinkled with sesame seeds), harissa-spiced olives and spit-roasted lamb. As Michelle, our Reservation Consultant suggests "if you want the hustle and bustle, then the medina is a must at night! Just make sure you haggle, haggle and haggle - you'll be surprised at how much you can get the cost down.

Moroccan dishes of aromatic tagines and flavoursome couscous are best sampled at Al Fassia, a restaurant run entirely by female staff. Those searching for a romantic spot to admire the gleaming cityscape and Atlas Mountain range should dine on the glittering rooftop of Nomad, where Moroccan dishes with a contemporary twist are served, surrounded by glowing lanterns and flickering candles. Enjoy the lively atmosphere at Comptoir Darna, where Moroccan and International dishes are accompanied by Moroccan music, and belly- dancers balancing elaborate trays adorned with candles on their heads.

Food enthusiasts will love the chance, to learn how to recreate Moroccan dishes, and there are plenty of places in Marrakech offering culinary courses. Take a taste of your holiday back with you, as you barter with locals for ingredients at the souk, before creating a delicious meal of couscous or tagine. If you don't feel like venturing outside your resort, explore the 2-hectare organic farm at Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech where throughout the year you and your loved one can get involved in experiences from olive harvesting to Al fresco tailor-made cooking classes. Then join a mixology class or enjoy a candlelit dining experience.

Try something outside your comfort zone

Snow-capped peaks, magnificent valleys and deep gorges, the spectacular Atlas Mountains are just an hour away from Marrakech. This beautiful and intriguing region gives an insight into Moroccan life. Peppered with mud-thatched Berber villages and home to North Africa’s highest peak. Visit a local family just like Jo, our Reservations Manager did and uncover the fascinating mint tea serving ritual or trek through the remote mountain landscapes.

Climb up into the mud turrets of the Tuscan orange Ait Ben Haddou, to enjoy panoramic views and soak up the tranquil atmosphere at the Ouzoud waterfalls, where if you arrive after rain the cascades of water run a dramatic red-brown.

Hike through Dades Valley to gaze at unusual rock formations, red mud villages and bearded vultures or explore the hiking trails in the Ourika Valley. Or head to the desert for a camel ride through the dunes, and watch the sands glow a fiery red.

Another Marrakech holiday experience that will take you out of your comfort zone and get your adrenaline pumping with a desert buggy experience. Chris, our Assistant Reservations Manager ventured through the desert and enjoyed a fast-paced sightseeing tour with a difference, even enjoying the chance to meet a friendly local family.
