Shandrani Beachcomber Resort & Spa has its own 9-hole, Par 29 pitch & putt golf course on-site. Green fees and club hire are complimentary, but you’ll need to purchase golf balls and any accessories.

Avalon Golf Estate
Shandrani Beachcomber also has preferential rates at Avalon Golf Estate, situated approximately 30mins from the resort.  The Par 72 course was designed by renowned South Africa golf architect, Peter Matkovich, and is a wonderful course designed to maximise the natural contours of its tropical bush landscape.  Being set on the highland wind can come into play meaning there's a differnent golfing challenge from one day to the next, but the first four downhill holes with beautiful views over the soutthern coast line will always get you off to a good start.

With its location, on Blue Bay, Shandrani is the perfect spot for water sports and there's plenty of free sports including; water-skiing, windsurfing, sailing, glass bottom boat trips, snorkelling trips, kayaks and pedal boats. 

Shandrani Beachcomber now has a dedicated water-ski academy where guests can have one to one lessons (4 sessions per week, 30 minutes per session)

Shandrani has 6 floodlit tennis courts (hard courts, Head tennis racket hire is complimentary however tennis balls will need to be purchased), table tennis, volley ball and bocci ball. The hotel offers weekly free group tennis lessons and a pro is on hand for private lessons. Mountain bikes are also available.

Guests at Shandrani may make use of the gymnasium which has machines and free weights and offers a number of aerobic classes.

The sailing club is a member of the Mauritius Yachting Association and is accredited by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF). The club is at a small extra charge to guests and is aimed at those trying sailing for the first time or those wanting to hone basic skills. It may therefore not appeal to experienced sailors. You can progress to beginner's level with an average of just one hours sailing per day for 5 days.  The Sailing school starts from 6 years and up and guests can choose to learn in optimist (for the younger ones), laser or hobie cat.

Mauritius offers excellent deep sea fishing in season. There is a fishing charter company in Black River in the south west of the island that we recommend. They offer half and full day trips on fully equipped specialist fishing boats. For more information on boats and prices, call or email us.

Designed to bring out the best of the unspoiled landscape of southern Mauritius, the activities include guided bike trips, visiting the natural bridge and uncovering the history and vibrant culture of the seaside village of Mahebourg. You can even explore the famous wildlife sanctuary of Ile aux Aigrettes and enjoy the chance to spot rare endangered wildlife including the almost extinct Pink Pigeon. Rather than being competitive, the half-day excursions are geared towards spending time with family and friends according to individual levels of fitness.
