Honeymoons in Mauritius

Useful tips to get you started with your Mauritius Honeymoon.

When should you start thinking about your honeymoon?

We suggest that you book your Mauritius honeymoon as soon as your wedding date is confirmed to avoid disappointment. If you’re getting married during the summer months or school holidays, these are very popular times to travel, so we recommend booking early.

How can we make our honeymoon extra special?

You can upgrade your flights to World Traveller Plus or Business Class, upgrade your room to a suite, indulge in spa treatments, or upgrade to All-Inclusive. For something extra special, ask the staff at your hotel to arrange a romantic candlelit dinner.

Do you have special offers for honeymooners?

Yes you can save up to 30% off your accommodation costs when staying at a Beachcomber Hotel.

Can my wedding guests contribute to my honeymoon cost?

Yes, if your guests call one of our reservations team and quote your unique booking number they can contribute payment towards your Mauritius honeymoon.

What about Passports and wedding certificates?

Don’t leave it too late to check that your passports are valid.

For your honeymoon to Mauritius, your passport must be valid for at least six months after the date you are due to return to the UK, plus one clear, blank page.

If you need to obtain a new passport, the Post Office offers a convenient Fast Track renewal service. Alternatively, you can contact The Identity & Passport Service to enquire about their Fast Track renewal option. These services can process passports within seven working days, but for your peace of mind, it’s best to renew them as soon as possible.

If you are planning to travel in your new married name, make sure that not only your passport reflects your new name, but also all of your booking details, especially your flight information. You can change the name on your passport through The Identity & Passport Service up to three months before your wedding day. Your old passport will be cancelled and a new ‘post-dated’ passport will be issued, meaning you cannot travel before the ceremony date itself.

For full details, visit The Identity & Passport Service website and refer to the section on applying for a new passport. However, it may be easier to update everything once you return from your honeymoon.

You’ll also need your wedding certificate when going on a honeymoon, familymoon, or anniversary trip.
