Arrival and Speedboat Transfer

Our journey began with a speedboat transfer across the crystal-clear waters. As we glided over the calm sea, a pod of dolphins greeted us, playing freely in the peaceful early morning. Not another boat was in sight, making the moment feel truly private and magical.

For those traveling directly from Mahé, there’s also the option of a seaplane transfer, which offers breathtaking aerial views of the islands as you approach Raa Atoll.

Dhigali offers luxurious, modern accommodations with stunning views from every corner. We stayed in a lagoon villa that was pure indulgence: a lavish bathroom, private pool, and direct access to the house reef.

Lounging on the sunbed, I watched manta rays glide gracefully beneath the water while fish swam lazily around the villa. It was a truly mesmerizing sight and a constant reminder of the beauty surrounding us.

Snorkelling Adventures

Snorkelling around the island was an adventure like no other. Beyond a few restricted areas, the waters around Dhigali are teeming with life. I spotted trumpetfish, reef sharks, blue sturgeon, and even the occasional manta ray. The clarity of the water made every dive feel immersive, as if I were part of this vibrant underwater world.

Dining Experiences

From arrival to departure, the premium all-inclusive package elevated our stay, offering top-shelf wines, beers, and spirits.

  • Lunch at Capers buffet offered a wide variety of beautifully presented dishes.
  • For a more casual experience, the pop-up pizzeria was a delight. We loved taking our pizzas to a quiet spot on the island and enjoying them in private.
  • Dinner at Battuta was a culinary journey, blending Asian and Middle Eastern flavours, inspired by the travels of 14th-century explorer Ibn Battuta.

Every meal was memorable, from casual bites to exquisite fine dining experiences.

The perfect way to end any day was at Haali Sunset Bar, located on the western tip of the island. Sinking into a beach beanbag with a cocktail in hand, accompanied by the soothing sounds of a saxophone, I watched the sun disappear into the horizon. It was pure magic and the perfect reflection of the peaceful pace of life on Dhigali.

Final Thoughts

From playful dolphins and snorkelling adventures to exquisite dining and breathtaking sunsets, Dhigali offers a peaceful, luxurious, and unforgettable Maldivian escape. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking marine life, relaxation, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
