Siyam World Paradise for All Ages

Sarah Robertson, Senior Reservation Consultant, admits that when she thought of family-friendly holiday destinations, the Maldives was never at the forefront of her mind. Deserted beaches, overwater villas, and secluded candle-lit restaurants, surely it was just for couples seeking a quiet, romantic escape? Then she visited Siyam World, and her eyes were well and truly opened.

Siyam World is a large island, and that’s exactly what makes it so appealing for families. The scale of the resort allows for an impressive variety of facilities, activities, and dining options, giving everyone space to enjoy the island in their own way without ever feeling crowded.

You can get around the island easily by golf buggy, but one of our favourite things to do was hiring bikes and exploring on two wheels. It’s a fun, relaxed way to take in the scenery and stumble upon new corners of the resort.

Land and Water Activities

With such a wide range of activities, boredom simply isn’t an option. There are tennis and badminton courts, football pitches, and a dedicated sports arena featuring go-karting. We were lucky enough to test out the go-karts during our stay and I can honestly say it was great fun and a real hit for all ages.

There’s just as much happening on the water as there is on land. Kayaking, sailing, jet skiing, kite surfing, snorkelling safaris, boat trips, and diving are all available. There’s even a full aqua park. The island also has a house reef, meaning you can snorkel straight from the beach, ideal for those who want to see marine life without venturing into deeper waters.

Family Friendly

The kids’ club, Kidz World, really lives up to its name. Complimentary for children aged 3–12, it’s far more than a standard kids’ club. With a packed programme of activities and excellent facilities, children are kept happily entertained while parents relax on the beach with a cocktail or treat themselves to a spa visit. There’seven a children’s pool and a nap room for when little ones need to recharge.

One thoughtful touch that really stood out was at the seaplane terminal arrivals lounge. There’s a dedicated children’s room complete with a ball pit, television, books, and colouring activities to keep kids entertained while waiting for the flight. Meanwhile, adults can enjoy a complimentary neck and shoulder massage, something I would thoroughly recommend. It’s a brilliant start to the holiday and makes the seaplane experience even more enjoyable for the whole family.

Back at the resort, we were greeted with banging drums and singing. The welcome was warm, energetic, and immediately set the tone for the fun, relaxed atmosphere that runs throughout Siyam World.

Travelling with older children? Booking a water villa with a slide is an absolute winner. Hours of fun can be had whizzing straight from your villa into the crystal-clear lagoon. I must say, this was one of the highlights of our trip.

Evenings, Dining & Entertainment

As night falls, the resort really comes alive. We enjoyed a beautiful meal at Arigato, followed by evening entertainment at the main bar area, together. The atmosphere was fantastic, with plenty of people dancing and enjoying the lively vibe.

The WOW All-Inclusive package is excellent, offering a great selection of food and drinks and even the minibar in your villa is included, which is a real bonus for families.

Siyam World has such a relaxed, fun-loving atmosphere, making it perfect for a family holiday. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to families who enjoy land and water sports, love good food, and want to experience the beauty of the Maldives in a way that suits all ages.

It turns out paradise isn’t just for couples. At Siyam World, you can relax, play, and make unforgettable memories together as a family.
